War has broken out between the students of Chester and Southampton University, as both groups feel that they lay claim to the world record for the number of people dressed up like Smurfs.
"Chester managed almost 800 lookalikes, seemingly seeing off Southampton's 720.
But the southerners are disputing their northern counterparts' win as Chester students wore shower caps, not the traditional Smurfs headgear of white hats."
